Highlights from the Bihar Results: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) achieved a landslide victory in Bihar, taking home 122 of the state’s parliamentary seats in a tense election that lasted 19 hours before being declared over in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
RJD, Congress and the Left parties made up the Mahagathbandhan that won 110 of the state’s seats in the legislative assembly.
With 72 seats under its belt, the BJP played an important role in the NDA’s victory; nevertheless, the RJD also put in an impressive showing, capturing 75 seats and becoming the single-largest party in the 243-member Bihar legislative body.
As a result, the Mahagathbandhan’s tally in the general election was affected by the Congress’s poor performance.
