Constitution day or Samvidhan Divas is also called National Law Day is celebrated on November 26 every year.

On this day, in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on January 26, 1950.

It is a symbol of tribute to B.R Ambedkar who played a vital role in making of Indian Constitution.

Activities like mock Parliament, essay and debate competitions are being organised all over the country on the occasion. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also ordered the affiliated schools to celebrate the day.

This day is also celebrated to promote peace and harmony amongst the people.

Government is planning to organise year-long celebrations on thisĀ  occasion.
