Asanga and Vasubandhu were two brothers who flourished in the Punjab region in the fourth century CE.
Asanga was the most important teacher of Yogachara or Vijnanavada school founded by his guru, Maitreyanatha.
Vasubandhus greatest work, Abhidharmakosa, is still considered an important encyclopaedia of Buddhism.
