About Mission Sagar:

• In the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, India initiated Mission Sagar as part of the government’s outreach program to five island nations in the Indian Ocean.
• The Indian Naval Ship Kesari left for five island nations as part of the Mission – Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Comoros.
• India provided medical assistance teams with food products, COVID-related medicines like HCQ tablets, and special Ayurvedic medicines to these nations.
• The deployment is in line with the vision of stability and development for all in the ‘SAGAR’ area promulgated by the Prime Ministers in March 2015.
