In the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, India initiated Mission Sagar as part of the government’s outreach program to five island nations in the Indian Ocean.
The Indian Naval Ship Kesari left for five island nations as part of the Mission – Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Comoros.
India provided medical assistance teams with food products, COVID-related medicines like HCQ tablets, and special Ayurvedic medicines to these nations.
The deployment is in line with the vision of stability and development for all in the ‘SAGAR’ area promulgated by the Prime Ministers in March 2015.
