It also makes sure that the foreign donations received are not used for illegal purposes. All charitable organisations receiving foreign donations in India fall under the jurisdiction of this Act. As specified in Section 3(1) of FCRA 2010, the reception of a foreign contribution is prohibited as follows:- An political candidate. Correspondent, columnist, cartoonist, licenced newspaper owner, printer or publisher. A judge, civil servant or employee of any government-owned company or other body. Member of any legislature. Organization of a political nature as defined by the Central Government in accordance with sub-section (1) of Section 5.
