Tropical deciduous forests are the most spreaded forest in India
Found in the region receiving rainfall between 200cm and 70cm.
Trees in such type of forests shed their leaves in dry summer for approx eight weeks.
These forests are found mostly in the eastern part of the country.
Tropical deciduous forests are of two types- moist deciduous and dry deciduous.
Moist deciduous forests can be found on the eastern slopes of the Western Ghats, north-eastern parts of the Chhota Nagpur Peninsular plateau and along the Shiwaliks.
The rest of India is covered by dry deciduous forests.
Tiger, wolves, rabbit etc. are found in such forests.
