600 MW Kholongchhu project is part of four projects agreed in 2008, other three being Bunakha, Wangchhu and Chamkharchhu.
Kholongchhu is a 50:50 Joint Venture between Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam, Himachal Pradesh PSU and Bhutanese Druk Green Power Corporation.
Other Key projects include the Tala hydropower project (1,020 MW) and the Dorjilung hydropower project (1,125 MW) (trilateral cooperation between Bhutan, India, and Bangladesh).
